The first quarter was scoreless before the Pats opened the 2nd quarter with a 15 play, 89yd drive, that took up a ton of time and resulted in 7pts. But the Steelers came right back, moving down to first and goal at the New England 1yd line. But 1st and goal from the 1, and a sure TD quickly turned into 4th and goal from the 5 and a Field goal. With less than 20 seconds to go in the first half, rookie Terrence Wheatley had a good return for the Pats on the kickoff. With one throw over the middle to WR Randy Moss, the Pats gained 29yds to get into field goal range with 1 second to go in the 1st half. Stephen Gostkowski then added 3pts to extend the New England lead to 10-3 at the half. After a scoreless 3rd quarter the Pats had a nice drive capped off by a Maroney TD run, to put the game away. Patriots win 17-3 in a defensive battle!
